You're replacing the pivot bolts, so....getting the pivot bolts out of the top is proving problematical, its difficult to get a purchase on the tapered end to stop it turning with the bolt
5" angle grinder (prefferably with 1mm disk) straight through the nut right by the washer ;-)
Keep the grinding grit and steel sparks out of the trunnion threads though!

Yes I agree, sometimes there is no choice but to just zip through the metal to get a part free. regretably I had to disc cut off these pedals as the spindle bush was corroded solid onto the spindle preventing it from sliding clear. Ive got a replacement set of pedals ready to go from the pickup relic.<br>

well at last the pivot pin arrived, oddly, no packing,it was loose in this box! still,ebay, you pay your money and take your chance, hope the threads not damaged with it rattling around like that. still, an original bmc part. just waiting now for the new bottom pins. Hope they're better packed

I'd inserted the pin back to front, so after tightening the whole thing up and checking it was the mirror image of its opposite number, it all had to come apart again, that'll teach me for having the radio on in the workshop when I should have been concentrating.
