battery booster

Post by gcook »

Can anybody tell me if there is any reason why modern boosters (jump start packs) should not be used on an older moggy if her battery is flat??

theirs no reason why the cpu should frie from jump starting the car.
just acts as a temporary battery.
unless you get the leads the wrong way round then it will become expensive.

The Minor comes with an environmentally friendly zero energy consumption lead and acid free light-weight emergency starter. It's usually painted red and can double as a wheel brace. No need for any of those fancy electrickery devices :D

Thanks for the reassurance. Take the point about the starting handle, if you dont get the technique right they are not very user friendly!!!

Hello Simmitc,

"zero energy consumption"

Doesn't that depend on the compression ratio?

Those booster packs you can buy are fine but beware fast chargers that some garages use.
They may be fast but don't do the battery any favours.
