my grandmothers series 2 minor (she thinks it was a 52, definitely had an a series engine)

hit a bank head on after passing out due to a minor heart attack (or at least thats the reason i remember)

taken 4.12.84

front window is broken due to her headbutting it. Im told there was also a dent in the roof where she hit. The window broke her jaw.

This car was subject to many speed tests by my mother and her sisters  . The brown grill and side stripes are house paint (some of the house is still that colour) and i just noticed that the bonnet has been shaved and filled along the sides.

after the crash the minor was still driveable and was left out on the road by the house with an "offers" sign on it. A couple of days later it sold to a couple of maori guys from te kaha. From what i understand they bent it back roughly in to shape and drove as is until the sea air returned it back to the earth

What a story!

Judging by the bonnet flash this was an MM, not a Series II. Your granny was prob right when she said 1952, one of the last MM's

Yes the later MM's and early series II's were virtually identical. The only external difference was the bonnet flash which was a raised "handle" type on the Series II but a chrome strip mon the MM.
