Replacement seats Daft Question

Post by ayr41 »

I have had my front seats refurbished by Newton Commercials and a fine job they have done, as they have been out of the car for two months I have forgotten which side the fold down seat goes to let passengers in the back and which side the stiff back goes, before I take a 50% chance and get it wrong can someone please let me know, thanks Stephen

i always thought the fold down seat was the passenger seat.

Is your drivers seat adjustable if so the handle next to the gear handbrake.

I'm sure the folding seat goes on the passenger side. As if it were on the driver's side it would restrict access to the back. I have a 4 door so don't know 100%. Just an educated guess.

Think I may have started something here, I always back the loser in a two horse race, so I will ask the audience, looks as if fold down goes on the passenger side, if you here screams coming from Ayrshire tomorrow you know what has happened - Thanks everyone

Both my front seats fold, so if I took mine out it doesn't matter which way I put them back in :P :D

Also the Driver's side (at least on the later cars) has a seat adjuster underneath to take the seat forward or back (for shorter or taller people)

You can always fold the back seat and put it in from the boot, 6ftx2ft sheets of MDF, 2mtrs copper pipes etc. etc.

My 'adjustable' driver's seat won't pass MOT. They say it is not secure. I have to change it for an old fixed seat before every MOT - and then swap back again!

How bizzare, I've never had an issue with the adjustable front seat. Mind you, mine's quite 'difficult' to adjust.
