from what i understand you are asking about bake servos..

Be prepared for lots of comments on this one, i think you might have opened a can of worms.

If you have drums up front i do not think that a servo / brake booster is worth it but if you discs up front then yes it is a worth while addition..

I would normally say try and find another moggy to drive with the modification before doing the change your self to make sure you like how it works.

as for suppliers most of the moggy and mg suppliers will sell you one.. try looking for "brake servo"

As above - not necessary unless discs have been fitted - even then........ You would need to re-pipe the rear brakes so ALL the brakes go through the servo. Servo doesn't make the brakes work any better - it just reduces the foot pedal load.

I tend to disagree with Charlie on this one. I have servo assisted drums on my 1275 and they are more than capable of doing the job.
In fact, they are much better than the last 1275 i had which had servo assisted discs. Drum brakes need more maintenance than discs so this is the down side.

Yes - some drums (!) are indeed better than poor discs! Servo or not is up to the individual - but drums in GOOD condition should work perfectly well without a servo.

I think the Minor drums without a servo are ok if you are wearing decent boots but I have problems getting enough pedal pressure wearing my winklepickers

It would have to be welded...and then we'd have a argument about the best type of welding!
Older and more confused than I could ever imagine possible.

To answer you question on this side of the Pond, it depends.

If you still have the the original master cylinder location, you can use a remote booster from a Mini. These are not mechanically connected to the MN but are hydraulicaly connected so can be mounted any where. If you want to change the braking system, you can use any setup from a smaller car, but will require a pendant pedal. Some have kept the brake pedal as is and built a linkage to a master cylinder mounted on the engine bay floor. This arrangement would allow a typical MC/booster unit.

As stated previously a booster doesn't 'fix' a marginal braking system. You need to consider the entire braking system, not just try to lower pedal force.
