Link arm

Post by pmdavies »

I've taken the rear link arms off to do some welding. (the one that goes from the the rear chassis leg to the rear shock absorber arm).

I need to replace the two rubber bushes, however the other end has a ball joint. Around the spindle there is the remains of some rubber. the question is: Is it supposed to have a rubber boot? If so can I just replace the boot (if so where do I get them?) and......is it an MOT issue?

Thanks

Pete

No - there's no boot - the rubber is inside the ball joint - if the joint is loose then yes it would be an MOT fail.

The link arm is available as a unit from any of the usual suppliers. It can be the source of knocking noises when the rubber ball joint is worn
