Ignition woes.

Post by Uncleken »

Hi all after a some what lengthy rebuild of my moggy 1966 4 door I finally got the engine back in and so keen to hear the old girl running I connected it up and nothing ,no warning lights nothing ,thinking I had connected the switch up wrong I check the manual but all seems well . I have power at the battery Ihave power at the solenoid. Could it be that I have a duff ignition switch or have I done something stupid.Any ideas?

Probably something stupid! If you press the solenoid manually - does the engine at least spin over ? Does anything else work - headlights/horn - that sort of thing ?

Is there enough life in the battery?
They lose charge over time.
The earth connections need to be as good as the rest or it wont work.
