Wish me luck!

Post by David53 »

Next week I am taking a week off work and taking the Morrie on a 750 mile trip around NSW. This will be the first time the car has been on a drive longer than 50 miles since the restoration was finished in May.

Needless to say I have my fears, but I have a bootful of tools and some spares and will be keeping everything crossed that nothing disaterous occurs!

Wish me luck!

Good luck!

If you do get into any difficulty, just remember you are in a Morris Minor, a car which even a Martian would quickly warm to at first sight.
I've found myself in a few tight spots during Moggie escapades. More than once I have been invited to stay with folk whilst the problem was sorted out. A Danish episode was especially pleasant, staying with a group of artists in their communal home. The owner of a filling station once gave me a free tankful of petrol! A mechanic let me use his welding tackle for free, to repair a radiator leak.

A smile, a please and a thank-you are all you really need in the end, in any situation!

When we were in France 2 years ago we broke down - dynamo seized - a French gent stopped - hardly spoke English and offered us lifts/help - he had had a MM and even had a few parts in his garage! sadly not a dynamo - it seems everyone wants to help a MM :D
