Hi
Just finishing the full restoration of the 1964 Traveller and wanted to fit rear inertia reel seat belts (additional to the front ones).
I once came across a diagram on this but have not been able to locate it again. Does anyone have tips, diagrams, instructions and how to best fit these.
Indeed are inertia reel OK to fit or should I go the static ones?
Many thanks

Hi, welcome to the forum
Don't forget to take a look at the "New member?" thread in general discussion.
This thread my be useful with regards to your seat belt query:

I notice that you are using an e-mail address as your user name. Just a suggestion, but you may want to think about changing this as it is likely to attract spam.

The trick is to be as specific as possible - I entered the words 'traveller' 'rear' 'seat' and 'belts' in the top right hand box. The search facility automatically defaults to "search for any terms or use query as entered" (the box under the top right hand box). The problem with using this type of search is that every single post that features any one of the search words entered will be found. This will be hundreds of posts! To avoid this problem just click in the 'circle' for the search type "search for all terms". This will mean that only posts containing all of the words you have entered will be found, narrowing down your search and hopefully finding the post that answers your query. SimpleYes I had searched but wasn't able find using the search - guess I need to learn how to use it

Hopefully an admin person will be able to delete your current user name soon but I don't think they will be able to actually change it. Best to do as BMC suggests and register under a different user name, perhaps similar to the first, so we know who you are when you post again

Inertia belts are OK in the rear of a Traveller. Drill and bolt the reel to the rear wheel arch just behind the top. The other ends fit under the seat squab on either side of the prop shaft tunnel and on the outsides.
Make sure that the belts you buy are long enough. Mine were not, trouble is by the time I got around to fitting them I had forgotten which trader I had bought them from at the rally.
