We here are a friendly bunch, and provided the t&cs are followed pretty much anything goes. This is also one of the few forums I've found where newbies aren't looked down on!
Before going further its always a good idea to fill in your location. It appears on the left hand side of every post you make. This means that if you are ever stuck with anything or have a "local" issue we know where you are and who to point you to! 3. How can I tell what type of minor I have?
There are a number of books on the subject, IMHO the best is "Original Morris Minor" by Ray Newell, out of print for a long time it has recently started in print again. 4. I want to buy a car, what do I look for?

Of course, theres no substitute for experienced eyes, stick your location in your profile (use the profile link up top) and you might be able to persuade someone local to have a shufty with you!
5. What is the little sliding switch on the bottom of the dash (under the speedo)?
Turns the instrument (aka) speedo backlights on/off - regardless of the position of this switch the speedo will only illuminate when the sidelights are on.
