front shocks
hello on driving on good roads shocks seem fine but a sharp little pot hole and things very much different loud bang as though suspencion bottoming out does this mean shocks u/s or just oil change..grandad

Grandad have you checked the tie rod bushes are all ok or it could be worn eyebolt bushes.

Jack oil tends to be SAE10 - very thin - certainly NOT like SAE140 which is like treacle !
The 'standard' oil for the dampers is SAE20 - but SAE 30 is better, and SAE40 is much better!
