OK I assume from the overwelming response to this topic that nobody bothers returning brake shoes for recycling so I suppose they will get dumped on my next trip to the tip. I am reluctant to throw out W1500 shoes.
Some brake places still do replacement facings. Might be worth getting them done then you have your next spare set all ready.

First name I found from Google. Never dealt with them but must be several out there.
Just don't look at how much they want for a Minor 8" drum

I wouldn't throw away w1500 shoes, why not keep them for an exchange if you have w1500 brakes or I am sure you could give them away to someone who has these brakes fitted.
Or sell them on ebay someone will have them. Give them to Roy for Christmas

That name did spring to mind and I was waiting for a response. It is only the worn out shoes that I want to dispose of, they are forming a pile in the middle of the garage floor as I clear my shelves
I have plenty - thanks for the 'kind' offer! But they are getting harder to find - so I wouldn't throw them away. Must be possible to get them relined - or to buy new linings and rivet them on yourself!
Its the 'stretching' them on that has always bothered me.
