Well - I did say 'almost immediately' - can't be too bad or it would have slipped big time. Easy to refurb head - probably needs new exhaust valves - inlets can usually be saved. Can't remember - have I sent you the Workshop Manual link?

well thanks to everyone on this forum, shes running very well now, im not sure if im entirely happy but im sure with some tweeking i can get her even better. next job is to take a look at the brakes... :-) bit of juddering on the steering wheel from the front, she has marina disks and i think there might be some adjustment needed or attention of some kind on the calipers, gonna have a shoofty one of the forth coming weekends. Although knowing that the trunnions are worn could this cause some of the juddering?

Indeed it could - and/or worn out bushings in the suspension mounts.
