I was planning on driving a happy couple on their wedding day in my Convertible tomorrow, and then going to the Knebworth show on Sunday but some bugger in a big white van drove into the back of my Morris today, just as I was turning into my parents' driveway. He pushed the car forward so it spun and smashed into the fence and gatepost. My Morris specialist reckons he has caused around £2000 -£3000 worth of damage to my car. Both front and back bumpers + valances are buckled, the nearside rear wing is completely buckled, the rear brake light has been taken out, I've got a puncture on the front tyre and the boot lid is jammed shut. Don't know the full extent of the damage until I get the quote next week. In the meantime, I am suffering from whiplash pain! Great start to the Bank Holiday weekend!

Rob, that is awful new. I am really sorry to hear it. Its bad enough the van man made it not possible for the couple to have a Moggy on their wedding day and you not to have a car to go to Knebworth but for your injuries too. Some people eh. I really do hope you have a good recovery and I hope you do decide to get the car back on the road if you can.
Makes my random front tyre puncture sound rather pathetic. Still haven't figured how it did it but I know now how to change a tyre.
Again sorry to hear about that and I hope all turns out fine for you.
Steve

Thanks Steve. Bluebell is over at the garage awaiting repair. She will definitely be back on the road asap as it's all going through the insurance. I just hope I get her in time for the Goodwood Revival which I've already paid to go to, and the Kent Branches Hop which I never miss! But that's only three weeks away so it could be very tight indeed! Thanks again for your kind words.

We're off to Cornwall, camping in Stithians at the Cornwall VW Jamboree. Link here:-

http://www.cvwoc.co.uk/jamboree/index.html

Yes, VW Jamboree! No I haven't changed sides, a couple of friends in the running club are into VW's and have a Beetle and a Kombi. They suggested we went, I emailed the organiser and said can I bring the mog & he was quite happy! Looking forward to it, should be a bit different. I'll be interested to see if anyone has attempted a Traveller style conversion on a Beetle.

We bought a 6 man tent a couple of weeks ago, so this'll be the first time it's used. Should be enough room for two of us.......

cheers,
Neil

Knebworth

Post by fsk658 »

Hi can anyone tell me if I can get into Knebworth on Monday in my moggy without pre booked entry tickets and what entry price I may have to pay. As usual I left it to late. Thanks John
