Search Facility
In simple, non technical terms how do I search for a previous topic without scrolling back through all the old pages?

Hi Mike,
At the top of the page you'll see "FAQ" "Search" "Memberlist" etc, click on "Search". You'll then have the search screen, at the top of this screen to the left hand side you'll see (in bold type) "Search for keywords" , and on the right hand side opposite this there is a grey box. Type in what you are looking for then press the "search" button towared the bottom centre of the screen. This will then give you a list of all of the posts which have the keyword you typed in.
Once you get used to this, there are additional buttons / filters you can use on the search page.
Hopefully that makes sense.
Regards, Mike.

Make sure that you select "Search for all terms". This will then look for every word you've entered; otherwise it's any post that contains any of the words.
I've previously suggested that it would be useful to have a date range selection in the search, posts between "date and time x" and date and time y". I know that Jon's doing a great job, but if he has a spare few minutes, I think that the facility would be really useful...

It is on Jon's list of things to do when he gets a chance.simmitc wrote:Make sure that you select "Search for all terms". This will then look for every word you've entered; otherwise it's any post that contains any of the words.
