Chrome smoothies, For Minor , Anyone Help.

Hi All

Anyone know a UK supplier that could supply Chrome smoothies for a 67 Minor , standard running gear

Something like these

Dont you hate it when people say ' i had some of those', well I'm about to do it!
I sold a set on e-bay last month, very hard to find.
This was them.....

Mine had 'Rocket wheels' written inside them but i've looked for rocket wheels on the net and had no luck.
North hants tyres will drill their wheels to any PCD

The only one's I managed to find were Ford spacing - Saw them first on a Minor at the L2B (belonged to iambiggles)

I have a set of Keystone Sunspoke wire wheel effect things that were on my Mog when I bought it. You can leave the wires off to go for a chrome dish rim look which is what I've done.
Neither the style nor the dubious universal fitment (oval holes???) is to my taste so they'll be going on fleabay as soon as I get a set of minilites! Probably end up on a slammed VW Caddy or something...<br>

Ive a set of Marina Mini lites - Mag alloy wheels sat in my garage if your interested.

No luck on the wheels at all , tried Northants, and they cant get them for moggie PCD , tried a couple of USA dealers to see if the can supply blanks but no luck there, Only choice i can see are universal hubcaps, Found some from the states

Unless anyone knows of any UK companies doing smootie hubcaps looks like it my only option to get the affect i want ,

If only Appliance wheels where still going , they used to do a lovely chrome Smoothie

There are folk doing 'banded' wheels these days. I recall this as a dubious practise back in the 70's when there were many of these to choose from, built with varying skill and safety.
I understand that these are back on the market, but done properly now.
Check out the retro rides site as I've seen topics covering this there.
Once the wheel is done, you can get 'chrome' powdercoating applied (Aerotech?) to give you close to the finish you want. Chrome wheels didn't last in this country for obvious reasons - RUST.

I thought I saw that traveller on e-bay recently and the seller said that the bumper had been custom made by Woodies.

I like my bumper to.
You did see my car on ebay, my discrition said the wood kit is from woodies, and I made a custom rear bumper myself to match (meaning I used the same timber). There is only one of these, unless I make another which is unlikely.
