help from the experts please

Post by skelly »

I have recently started my convertible project and with the help from the experts on this site I now know I have a worth while project.

I have been told on this site that I have a real convertible but it also is a dulux model.
my question is what does a dulux model have that the standerd model does not?

I'm not certain, but I think you are looking at extras such as over-riders on the bumpers, windscreen washers etc etc. Nothing exciting. Much like getting a "Ghia", "LX" or "Special Edition" today.

I'll try and find the spec for you. What year?

Depending on year the Delux spec could of had duo tone interior, twin sunvisors, bumper over riders, heater, ash tray, carpet..... All the relevant parts are easily found these days so a build sheet from Heritage would be the easiest way to confirm the original spec.

Shane, if you want to find out more about your car/what it would have had/what colour grille etc click on the Links on the laft hand side of the site. Go to MMOC Branches and then Potteries. Click on Car Identification. It's very helpful!

Right in one Roy however just standard not special as the original paint was produced by Dulux.

Hi,
Judging by the photos you posted earlier you car is a fairly late one (1964-69) so duo-tone interoir would not have been an option, it would have had overriders and a passenger sunvisor though.
