Front Valance

Post by Hasse »

I have lost my front valance to my MM 4 door saloon 1951.

Has the front valance changed after the MM-produktion and will the valance from Series II and 1000 fit?

Please send a mail - hans.teinvall.telia.com

The picture is from a rally in Helsingborg, Sofiero Castle (former summerresidens for the king Gustav VI Adolf, grandfather to Carl XVI Gustav)

The front bumper valance was the same from the one piece bumpers in 1951 to the restyled Series II in 1954. The chrome bumper changed at the same time but only the position of the overiders which on the Series MM were only fitted to 4 door cars. The overiders on the earlier bumpers are closer together and if overiders are fitted to later bumpers on a Series MM they will obscure the side lights.
The one piece rear assembly was the same from 1951 to 1970.
Hasse, could you please send me the details of your car so that I can check if it is on the register

The car was registrated as U 12 086 March 5th 1951 in Västerås in Sweden. Sweden changed registration plates 1973 and the new number became HPL 060.

This front valence is available in fibreglass but you would only find a steel original second hand. It may be worth contacting club spares to see if they have any.

Heres a link to Bull Motifs fibreglass one,
