Just wondering...
I know it can be quite hard to tell as the minor oddometer doesn't have enough digits, mine reads 8000, though looking through the history and MoT certificates it seems that it has gone round the clock twice so would actually be 208k!
My other one has 86k though I've no idea if that be true or actually be 186
What would be the general average for a 40/50 year old car?
Who else has gone round the clock at least once?

I own a 1974 MG Midget 1275 in Teal Blue "Midget" is what we call him and he is in very good to excellant condition "midget" is a Chrome bumper/Round Wheel arch model.
76881 ... the 768 are pretty much level so its quite possibly genuine (I read somewhere once that the numbers would get out of close sync the second time around - I dont know how true that is ... perhaps it would be worth posting photos of our clocks so we can compare/contrast, especially with the 8000)
mine has gone round at least once it had 37000 when i got it 4 years ago, changed the engine 3 years ago and done 15000 on that one so 5000 a year so far.

Even allowing for less mileage in recent times I would think that many would be well over 200,000 for a 40+ year old car, I wonder how many can prove they have done less that 100,000.

for at least 10 years of those 40 my minor has been sat in one spot ... well strictly speaking two spots, 8 years outside of the previous owner's parents house and 2 outside of mine.

My Traveller shows 112000, which I'm guessing is about right. It had one lady owner from 1971 - 1991 and I don't think it has been used excessively since (I do 2 - 3000 a year in it now ...or even less).
The MGs are (As far as I know - I have no reason to doubt them) genuine at 67000 (Midget) and 45000 (BGT V8 ).
None of mine have had any history, so there was never any way to know.
My 57 has only been used on the road for 14 years, but in that time, who's to say it hadn't been twice round the clock as it's engine was broken and that wasn't the original engine!
Mileage in last 38 years = approx 1.5 miles in short bursts of usually 5 to 100 metres (plus about 1 mile reversing back again )
