Engine number tab

What do you do about the engine number ally tag when you skim the block? I've taken mine off can I just rivet it back on? or keep it safe somewhere for future reference.

Yes -if you wish! Rivet would be best. How much are you taking off the block ?

Absolute min. engine builder recommends, just a clean up of twenty years storage in a shed. Not enough to cause any component conflicts.

Doesn't seem worth doing then! Take off 20 thou - get the pistons right to the top of the bores!
