Theakstons?? Homebrew?? Either of those and I wouldn't be moving anywhere other than slowly onto the floor!! (Q envy emoticon!)

So do you think there was a cell down on the battery, 10 volts at tickover causing rough running, then charging kicked in at faster speeds to disguise it? Battery finally had enough of the extra strain and over volting of the remaining cells when charging?

Other than that, it sounds more like a coincidence- wait for it to recur when you are in a happy mood :-?

My 90 year old neighbour is having recent cold starting problems with his '96 Skoda. He is convinced it is due to the radio I put in for him 3 years ago :roll: Trouble is, at that age we tend to get obsessed with one idea, he is now insisting I take the radio out to sort the problem!(personally I think it's the temp sensor, maybe I'll quietly replace it for a magic cure!)

Take the radio out - at 90 he probably can't hear it anyway.
