So do you think there was a cell down on the battery, 10 volts at tickover causing rough running, then charging kicked in at faster speeds to disguise it? Battery finally had enough of the extra strain and over volting of the remaining cells when charging?
Other than that, it sounds more like a coincidence- wait for it to recur when you are in a happy mood
