It will all depend on circumstances but the Dales would get my vote.Judge wrote:Are you coming then Kevin?![]()
At the moment the most votes are for the Derbyshire Dales.

PS Definitely MOT-UK, I have just heard from a friend of ours that has returned from a camping trip in the South of France, where the cost was, are you ready for this, 68 Euros a night!!!!!!

How about taking in a steam railway. Wye Valley has been mentioned (The run through Tintern in Autumn truly is breathtaking) and that adjoins the Forest of Dean, in which is to be found http://www.deanforestrailway.co.uk/, with Symonds Yat at the northern end.
Wales too has been mentioned. There's plenty of scenery, castles and other attractions, which follow on from the Wye Valley & Forest of Dean. I would add a note of caution, that it does have its rough "Sub culture" element. A good number of years ago, one of the MG Car Club registers ran a tour. They crossed into the Brecon Beacons National Park from the south (ie From the South Wales Valleys) and stayed overnight in a hotel, about 5 miles north of one of the "Heads of the Valleys" towns. Next morning sufficient of the cars had been vandalised that the tour was cancelled.
More recently, a Minor owner had his project car tipped into a disused canal in that same "Heads of the Valleys" town. I am not implying that everyone in these towns is a yob but there are enough of them to make their presense felt.
I probably would not have time to take part but I could perhaps offer some guidance if the event is to pass through this part of the world.
Shropshire has been mentioned. I am spending a few days there next month (At Ironbridge). I am leaving the car at home and using the Severn Valley Railway (http://www.svr.co.uk/) as part of my means of getting there. If MOT coincides with the right weekend, there is a great speed hillclimb just outside Shrewsbury - Loton Park (http://www.hdlcc.com/loton_park.php) and on one weekend, it is taken over by the Vintage Sports Car Club (http://www.vscc.co.uk/vsccweb/default.jsp).

A steam railway was taken in this time, and we even had our own dedicated carriages.
Anyway, some very good suggestions here, and I will make a note of them. Thanks.
PS If any more people out there want an item of the special commemorative MOT-UK clothing, I am sending the order in this evening.

DFR set aside two first class compartments for a trip I organised last year - http://vscc.valleyclassics.co.uk/forum/ ... .php?t=152
For those that have asked, the write up for this years MOT-UK will appear in the November-December issue of MM. It was too late for the current issue.

Do we have another potential entrant I wonder?
Actually the dates have not yet been set, and I am open to suggestions. However, as due to popular demand it looks like I will also be organising another LEO Run, it would be best to avoid August.
