Miel,
Mike is quite right saying it's easier to just replace it. I bought a second hand one from BM and it cost about 60€ including postage to Düsseldorf-I would go for it-it's not worth the hassle.

You will probably bump into Rolf Corbat at the Swiss Rally. He's the guy who makes these infamous teflon eybolt kits. I would be interested to hear your opinion on your return-safe journey!

Dear All,
After quite some time and trail and error, I found what caused the vibration. That i would like to share with you, so others can benefit.
After the last post, I have had another props shaft mounted, but it did not solve anything. So , just to be sure, I had my original propshaft balanced. No result. Then I had a appoimtment with my local garage and had the car running on axle stands, so that we could actually see under the car if something was wrong. And it was! It was the flange on the diff (to which the propshaft is connected) that was not rotating in a plane, but was wiggling a bit (not sure if thats proper English). The strange thing is that on earlier check, there was no play at all, so didn't suspect the diff in the first place.
I located a refurbished diff. replaced it and the vibration was gone!!
I took the old diff apart and it seemed that the bearings were OK, but closer inspection revealed a strange assymmetrical wear in the bearings, resulting in an off set as soon as the pinion nut was tightened.
Lesson learned is that first thing to do is having the car lifted on axle stands and look! (be sure that the car is secured though).
