Ends of front spring hanger bolt 42 23\64" 107.59 cm from left to right.
Ends of rear spring hanger bolts 42 7\8" 108.9 cm.
Across front bumper mounting legs 34 1\8"

Scott, Alec,
Thanks for you replies. Scott, do you know which edition of the manual you have and its title? I have a very old factory manual which covers the seires MM and series II, the section on the body is very limited.
Alec, I guess that the dimmension for the front torsion bar you gave me was from centerline to centerline?
Cheers,
Matt

You're a local !!!! - well as local to me as it gets on here
.
The manula I use is the genuine BMC one. It has a part # of AKD530. Other ones I have have a # of AKD530D & AKO530K.
If you like, I can send/fax you the pages to you (fax easier - PM me if you have access to one).
The manuals are around; have you checked with your club in Adelaide?

If you have difficulty getting a Workshop Manual there's a seller on ebay sells a CD of the full manual in pdf format. He's on quite regularly. I bought one and it's extremely useful as a reference file whilst at the pc. You can also print out the page(s) you want and not worry about getting greasy fingers all over it/them. Don't know about the copyright situation, though. I've just looked at mine and the pages you want are R16 and R17. This shows a MM but I think the principal dimensions are correct for all saloon models. Maybe others will advise you on this.

Thanks everyone for your help. It seems that my manual is missing pages R16 and R17. I have however found the dimensions from the dep dark depths of the State Library of South Australia. They had some ineteresting publications from the fifties and sixties, which they happily retrieved from storage for me. Some of them are "technical papers" published in australia for the benifit of mechanis I guess.
If this information is out of copyright, it would be great to have it posted on this site.
