Cleanin Canvas

Post by ani »

Anyone got any handy hints on scrubbing up the canvas? I'll need to re-waterproof it but can probably get something from a camping shop.
(looking for something to make it easy :o )

All I can suggest is you wash it in a warm mild solution of biological washing powder/liquid. Rinse it v. thoroughly and dry naturally outside. Then use a re-proofer for canvass (like the older tents) Think this is in a spray can.

Nikwax make a pure soap cleaner for canvas i used in on my tent there is no need to reproof and in rinses off really well you can get it from Blacks. I hope that isn't seen as an advert - just an observation about cleaning my tent!!

I can confirm that nikwax products are pretty good!

They also do something for reproofing canvas/leather
