Good garage needed

Post by Seasider »

Hi. I have a 1960 traveller which is my pride and joy. Unfortunatly the driver sill, rear floor pan and cross member has fallen prey to the dreaded tin worm. Is there anyone out there who would feel comfortable recommending a garage in the Blackpool area that could do these repairs. There doesn't seem to be any specialists local to me when I've looked in the club magazine.

I'm not aware of anyone around these parts who specialises in working on morris cars ... I know that Barkers in preston do a really thorough MOT, I dont know what they would be like doing welding though.

I vaugley remember that one of the guys from the East Lancs branch teaches welding, but they didnt seem very interested in helping me out when I spoke to them before so I bought a welder and taught myself.

You could try Cunliffes MG's at Kirkham. They may be willing to help you.

Is 'Tom Roy' not quite nearby ? If they don't do restorations themselves now - they will likely know who regularly buys parts from them - and therefore does restorations in that area. I would ask them!

On a serious note though, don't you have any Mini specialists in your area?
I seem to recall one in the Blacpool or Preston area, they would know what they were doing as they are used to loads of welding on the Mini.
