Tight Nuts??

Post by Daddsie »

I finally have the front suspension all up together, the only concern that I have is, what torgue do I set all the fulcrum pin nuts etc, should the bushes be squashed to within an inch of their lives or allowed to slop around a bit?

nuts

You do them up tight, if the fulcrum pins are correctly machined
you will have no problems. Tighten them finally after lowering
the car to the ground and bouncing it a couple of times.
I do not know the official torque figure but do not leave them loose

I usually find that if you tighten them quite reasonably tight, they just start to squash which is OK.

What you don't want is loose nuts that can go wayward as you are bouncing over bumps!!
