Series 2 gearbox in Series MM

Hi All,

Whilst searching for a USHM3 engine and gearbox for my Series MM, I have come across a Series 2 gearbox with the long gearlever. Does anyone have any idea if this can be fitted to a Series MM? I am thinking of this option as it seems that I will manage to find a sidevalve MM engine but the original gearbox is proving more difficult to find.

It won't fit, the bell housing on an MM is totally different....

I have a running USHM2 engine and box here in the shed. There are a few about plus the Morris 8 engines and boxes which are almost identical.
