One thing Halfords do well (though it pains me to admit it) is their ratchet spanners. There was a particularly fiddly job on Ruston engine fuel injectors that we had to do fairly often, and the Halfords ratchet just got into the space available, where more swank branded spanners wouldn't go.

TBH I think most of the staff seem to be teenagers
Employ a teenager, While they still know it all.

Last time I went into Halfords for a light bulb the "youth" thought as it was probably a "Japanese" make I should probably go back to the dealer

They will be doing well because they don't appear to have any staff
When you eventually find one it will probably be eating peanuts!
(maybe a bit over the top - I'm sure there will always be the exception)

I'm having a guilt pang
There might be Halford's employees with Minors!! I do have to say that a couple of weeks ago I had to take a faulty dizzy cap back and didn't have receipt or box. The young man that dealt with it was actually exceptional. Took it back without question and ordered me another one which I now have as a spare.
Now I feel better - as I said there will always be an exception to the rule

Can we try to keep this thread on topic rather than post comments and criticisms about Halfords staff. It doesn't help Darren with his original query. Ta

I suspect the last 'new' car with grease nipples would be the last of the Minis - in 2000? Can't think of any other car that would have grease nipples - although, maybe proper Land Rovers may still have some? Any body know ? My TR7 has a space for a grease nipple on the steering rack - for some odd reason I am supposed to unscrew a plug - screw in a nipple - grease it, and then reverse the procedure!! The point is - most garages now probably don't have a grease gun anymore!
