Blooming heck. That little hose that connects the water pump to the head blew yesterday, liberally steam blasting the engine bay. It was brand new last September.

Just wanted to share my sense of outrage
..replaced with clunkier piece of non-concertina hose. Meh.

It is/was a flexible hose. These can be slipped on without removing the head.

Bad news that they're not lasting even a year...... it seems it's not just the kevlar-reinforced hoses that aren't up to much!

I got the bog standard heater type replacement hose on without removing anything, Steve, though it was a bit of a faff. Using silicone grease helped

The warning about the concertina hose comes up regularly. Your picture should help to warn others! Well done getting a thickwall hose on without dropping the pump. Not easy!

Try a silicon alternative they last indefinately, although I was told not to offer them as superior.
