In need of advice how to buy a new roof

Post by bardellson »

Hello,

I have currently inherited a Morris minor from my late grandfather, this has always been a machine i have been fascinated with and loved.

It is the convertible version and the original roof needs replacing, unfortunately my knowledge on minors is very limited. And im in desperate search for a new roof.

Can you please help me or give me advice on where to locate a new roof, what one is best and prices

Much Appreciated, Thanks

There are many traders about who can offer roofs.

Bull Motif,
East Sussex Minors (ESM)
Canterbury Convertibles

all come to mind. A quick google will give you their sites...

Try ESM. Due to a 'mishap' I have just had to buy a complete new roof from them myself. Just got to fit it tomorrow

Take some pics as you go - and then upload the thread as a 'how to' sticky!

I will try bmc, but it might prove a little difficult trying to stretch the material, tack it, and take a picture at the same time

It can be done - I fitted a new top to my TR7 last summer - with considerable assistance from my wife - and a huge array of clothes pegs. No 'tacking' on a TR7 - lots of 'sticking'.

Oh don't worry I've fitted one before. It's just having enough hands to hold a camera as well

Each time you stop for a cup of tea - take another set of snaps!
