Just back from National and would likr to say a big thankyou to Jonathon and his team for such an impressive display of the power and skilled driving of the Moggies

Yes, I'd love to have been there for the JLH event and wonder why it wasn't mentioned when folk were asking for the timetable of events earlier.

Because the poster asked for the timetable of events so I used the timetable as stated in the rally brochure. Jonathon was on the track for the whole weekend, not at a specified time.

I had a great time going round in the traveller. Sorry for nearly pulling off the door strap Jonathon

This was certainly the best entertainment of any National I've ever been to! Prices were excellent and no wonder so many people wanted a go - you really did entertain a lot of people.

I hadn't realised that it was 100% for charity

until the awards session. Top marks for that.

I would have loved to have taken the Series MM round to see if I could hit 40 down the straights but the big ends weren't up to it. Eventually arrived home on a recovery truck.

I had a fantastic few laps in the saloon, thanks to Jonathon for such a well organised event.It really was the highlight of the National for me.

A big thankyou from us at JLH amd Omex for taking part in our event and I think we had 100% positive feedback from those who braved a test drive.
I'd like to thank Omex, Richard and Helen Wragg and Darren for the many hours they spent in designing making and fitting the supercharged Zetec.
It finally went on the rolling road late thursday and produced a whopping 308bhp and 250lbs of torque. We spent friday bolting on the remaining parts and finished with a quick test at 9.00pm that evening.
Only time for a guestimate as to set up handling wise until saturday morning, where we were only able to perform minor tweeks.
We see this as the start of the hard work from now on getting the car to handle well and put down full power.
Also a big personal thankyou to Richard who drove all of the demo runs, as I was completely bushed and not up to learning a new car.

We managed to raise £148 for the MMOC and the charity of their choice, so all who took part, give yourselves a pat on the back

I'll try and upload some pics of the day, and some of the build of the car, must say we will not try and build a car from a wreck into a potential racer in 6 weeks again!!!!
Many thanks for all of your comments and encouragement. We will be doing it all again at Snetterton on Oct 5th, where we are looking forward to using the other 3 gears as Haynes only allowed us upto 2nd, often running the rev limiter on the main straight.

If you have any good pics of the event ,please feel free to email them to us, and we will put up a new section on the website

i bottled it when i saw how fast the car went around the narrow track,i think id be brave on a wider track.

It wasn't really that scary. I just closed my eyes for most of the lap. Perhaps as I was the driver that wasn't such a good idea.........

For those who would like a few tech specs on the engines in the two Omex/JLH cars on the track.

Traveller - Ford Focus 2.0L Zetec engine. Built to our Ze20F020JLH spec which is basically a standard engine with Jenvey throttle bodies and our 600 Series ECU. Much background work is done to the engine not to increase power but to make it suitable for RWD installation in the Minor, such as a new cast sump, and CNC'd FEAD brackets. Approx output 170bhp/155lbft..

Saloon - Ford Focus 2.0L Zetec engine. Pistons replaced with forged versions and conrods replaced with steel versions. Rotrex C30-94 supercharger on a billet aluminium mounting bracket. Uses Jenvey throttle bodies and plenum chamber. Approx output 310bhp/250lbft.
