Pictures, as promised.

Post by limegreen »

First off - sorry to post so soon after my last.

Now...
Excuse the clutter around and general cheesi-ness of my grin! Here's some pictures of her, as promised.
All the decals are now gone, as the warmer weather gave my dad an excuse to pick them off. Bye-bye question marks and batman logo! I do believe the old owner had a thing for the riddler.
Spot what needs changing! Already I have some new chrome wingmirrors, which came with her, surprisingly! Along with two other pairs, the type that go on the doors and not on the wings, so if anyone needs a pair, let me know before I ebay them! I have one black set and one chrome set. I'll probably sell those black ones on there too.
Those lumps hanging off the front are extra lights, very useful! I also have an extra in the back window - I'm keeping those.

yes, that is a pinzgauer in the background to the right. if you know anyone who wants one, it's swiss. (:

you can see the stat of the rust on the back in this photo:

At least the dash is perfect! Just gotta get rid of that 'bad girl' sticker on the glovebox, and the 'meat is murder' sticker on my horn-push.
Yep, she does have a fuel cut off (if you're reading this, bmcecosse!), and I'm not saying where ;D
Image

Wel - there you go, there she is, in all her green glory. xD Apologies about the colour, to all those who don't like it. The green is staying!

Oh yes, the decals were awful! (No offense meant to the original owner.)
@alainmoran: I've now taken the big switches off, they were just rubber covers, ad I found out when I tugged them!

Oooh, ooh, door mirrors!

*breathes*

I could do with a pair of Door Mirrors, not for my minor (she sports wing mirrors) but for my DAF, if they're still going :)

Love the cheezy grin - and without the decals, the lime green is more fun :)

Looks a great car - and nice to see the owner too. Be sure to USE that secret switch - EVERY TIME you park the car! It should become part of your natural shut-down/start-up routine.

I'll do my best to make it a habit! I'm only 3/4 of an hour away from bristol, so i think it's a good idea.
Our garden (where she is at the moment) is all hemmed in with gates and cctv, and any theives would have to move a good few vehicles and a few chassis to get to her - so she's pretty safe there until she's on the road.

Well, it's nice to put a face to a name. I shall stop thinking you are a bloke now!

And well done for buying the car with the awful decals. I saw it on ebay many times for a silly price (normally without MOT) but when asking the previous owner if the decals were stuck on (and could be peeled off) or painted on, they didn't reply.

If I'd known you had the one with black painted chrome I'd have sent you a mercy parcel of paint stripper! (unbolt the parts and remove from car before paint stripping).

As for the colour - my first bike was a Kawasaki... originally red but painted a poor copy of lime green. I replaced the red overpainted panels with genuine green ones to get the proper 'in your face' green-ness. Just seeing the colour again brings back many memories!

yep, i'm definetly a girl!
yeah, she's been off the road since 2002 - her last tax disc expires 2003. the decals were, thankfully, vinyl, so they've come off easily in this weather! she also came with heaps of small spares and a fresh pot of the paint they used originally!

as for the painted chrome, i'll be stripping that next weekend, i heard somewhere that oven cleaner does a very good job of it.. so i'm going to try that.

..kawasaki green <3
