the TPM on ANY Ford Speedo is 1000. They changed the pinion in the gearbox according to final drive ratio - a possibly useful factoid there

By the end of the rally I hope that my speedo chart will be ready. I just need to check the data on 1098 LCVs. A few KPH speedos on our overseas visitors cars would be useful

So - if the sierra gearbox is set to drive a normal Ford speedo - you will need a 1000 tpm speedo - fairly sure there is a Mini speedo very close to that!

Surely when fitted to the Minor, that will alter depending on wheel size and diff ratio, compared to the particular wheel size/ diff ratio of the "donor" Ford? Or is the heat baking my brain??

or follow some trucks on a flat open road - they will be doing 56 mph!
Speed Limits for trucks are :-

Single carriageway 40MPH

Dual carriageway 50MPH

Motorway 60MPH

Under EU laws, trucks are restricted to 89KPH (56 ish)

Most Fords of that era have 14" wheels - I'm assuming the tyres will be near enough - especially as many fit bigger tyres to their Minor anyway! I think if you get a speedo within 55 you are doing well - although I have to say my 1244 with3.73 diff and 155 tyres on standard rims seems to be very very accurate!
Since trucks are goverened to 56 mph - you can be sure they WILL be doing 56 mph unless there is a serious gradient against them!
