Dodgy fuel pump

Post by Declan_Burns »

It's quite straight forward. Should only take a few minutes.

Er… just had a thought. Do cars with electronic ignition actually HAVE condensers? I've taken the diz cap off, taken off the rotor arm, removed the flanged nylon bush with the wires, undone the backing plate and found nothing that looks like a condenser. Of course, I'm assuming the thing I am looking at right now is a condenser – a 20mm x 15mm cylindrical thing with about 50mm of black cable coming out of it? Oh dear. Think I'd best start a new thread.

If it doesn't work, you're not hitting it with a big enough hammer.

Answered elsewhere - but I would suspect the coil.

Thanks everyone, really helpful responses as usual, I'll get a new coil from Bull Motif and see what occurs after that.
