MPG

Post by mogbass_pj »

I have had a search through the forum, and can't really find the answer, and I don't really know where to post this so I am posting it here if thats okay.

My question is, in normal day to day driving, driving sensibly how many MPG would you get?

Depends on the driving conditions but have a look at this thread for comparisons:

Simple answer mogbass - between 30 and 35 mpg depending on traffic conditions.

I'd say about 35 on normal day to day stuff (ie. relatively short runs). I've managed up to 44 on long trips that involved lots of cruising on motorways etc. On a recent trip around the Scottish highlands (lots of single track roads and mountainous terrain) we averaged 41.

If it doesn't work, you're not hitting it with a big enough hammer.

Part of my enjoyment comes from being a poor student and getting as many miles under the landys wheels as possible for as little as possible fuel wise, espiaclly as petrol is now costing a pound a litre. Em's got her minor for the fun of it, if she ever learns to drive! And I'm getting mine as a "sensible car" :D

had well over30mpg from my series 2.25 diesel landy, but it did have tall diffs and couldn't get up hills without dropping down a lot of gears
It was still fabulous off road though - low range 1st gear would pull other 4x4s out of trouble
