SEARCHING FOR MM 1000, blue, TMO 626G, sold in Berkshire

Post by nickheath »

Hi folks

Am desperately searching for a MM1000 that was in the family for years and was sold around 10 years ago. We are hugely keen to trace it and offer an option to buy it back as a surprise 40th present for my sister - worst case, borrow it for a weekend!

Reg: TMO 626G; 1098 cc; blue

Sold from my father in Cookham, Berks. Anyone with any thoughts on how to track it down gratefully received!!

Many thanks

Nick

You will have to fill out a V888 form which you can get from the DVLA website. It'll cost you £2.50 if they think your reason for looking for it is a valid one. Unless the owner is happy to come forward on here or other minor forums of course. Good luck :)

I know it's still on the road, I did that check. As for the DVLA, I dont think 'finding it for a birthday present' is likely to be a suitable reason do you? How romantic are they these days??

The usual only reason they will accept is if it has been involved in a accident i.e. damaged your vehicle and not owned up, hence you want to trace owner.

Perhaps it has gold wings and the chassis is full of diamonds?

The 'usual' reason DVLA release details is that it was parked in a restricted area - so a FINE can be sent! If that's a 'good' reason - I'm lost! But they do. Perhaps just 'wanting to contact current owner to pass over details of the car's past history' would be ok ??

Serena must be my bro-in-laws PA as we're both looking! Didnt realise he'd got her on the case too.

Tried some potentially bent coppers but it seems her majestys best are all very upstanding moral people. When did that change? :-)

Gonna have to try the DVLA route and see how favourably they look upon our story!

I would definitely pitch it in the 'useful past history etc' manner - and indeed that is what you have - a previous owner! But you will only get one shot at it - so don't mess up! then - you will have to make the owner an 'offer he can't refuse' to buy the car!

Can't help you with that one but we do own a Traveller TMO643G which was first registered in Berkshire and was a South Western Electricity fleet car. They may have been sold from the same outlet possibly.
1959 4 door, (first car)
1967 2 door,
1971 Telephone van
1959 2 door 1300 5 speed project yet to be begun.
1974 Mini 1275 Rocket
1958 A35 shed awaiting rescue.
Plus more in the family....
