Sill access ?

Post by shymoggie »

Hi all,

Could you tell me how to get the big silver 'sill cover' plate off my 4door ? I've undone the 2 screws and it still won't budge. :o What else has to come off ? :-?

First undo the small self-tapping screws at the top that are inside the car.

Then undo the (four?) nuts and bolts that hold the sill, sill cover and sill finisher together. You have to look underneath the car to see them, they are hard to undo and it may be easier to use an angle grinder to cut the bolts off and then use new ones.

This diagram shows how it goes together (I hope).

Hopefully this will remove it, unless some berk has welded them on (like on my Traveller!)

No Cam,
Thats what a similar berk did to the bottom wing / wheelarch corner on the passenger front !!!

Going to have to cut a lump out of the arch to get the darned wing off !!
