Humber 10's

anyone know anything about these, or can point me in the direction of any online info?

been offered this wee beastie

1 owner (well 2 really, they guy picked it up about 6 months ago) , been barn stored for the last 30 years. parked up as it wasnt running right - turns out the spark plugs were an inch too short

its a 1950, has the original sidevalve engine, and so far from what i have seen of it there isnt really anything needing work (apart from the paint, but i figure i could paint it when i do my morrie)

The Post Vintage Humber Car Club UK may be able to help, but I've a feeling it may have been an export-only model.

Humber were more known for their luxury barges, e.g. the Pullman, Imperial, Snipe/Super-Snipe ranges which they made in the post-war years. They were finally drawn into the Rootes group and lost in the 70's.

The blue car does have a look of the late 40s - 50s about it, although...

It looks familiar, but I can't quite put my finger on it at present.

Aha!

We would know it as the Hillman Minx; Hillman were also part of the Rootes empire and many cars were badge-engineered: the same car sold in different trim levels by different marques.

The Hillman Minx Phase VI is probably quite close. The grille appears slightly different, but then as yours is badged as a Humber rather than a Hillman, that was perhaps one of the changes they made.

Humber used the Minx bodystyle badged as a Humber Hawk, which in the early 50's looked a lot like your car, but only from the back. The front-end treatment was quite different, having an upright grill with horizontal bars flanking it, like this MkIV:
