A little tip I learnt from Discovery channels "tank overhall" using a dab of enamel modelling paint and a tissue lightly doused in thinner to wipe off the access, the white recessed lettering comes back to life. Notice the p in push is still to go, but the word heater looks pritty good now.

This is still one of my favourite threads - keep up the good work David. Today I got to fix a 2003 Astra windsceen washer :(

It's just not the same really - especially when fighting with the plastic clips that hold the wheel arch liners... And yet again it's not even my car

The windscreen wipers were up for removal next, can anyone help? I'm reading the Haynes and pressing this clip, nothing, reading the Haynes again, is it this clip you have to press to remove the wiper arm?

You have to sort of flick the clip outwards - Try a small electrical screwdriver and pull hard on the wiper arm as it's probably siezed on....

...and lever the arm off using a couple of screwdrivers placed either side if the spindle.

My next train of thought is my cab floor, itching to put my welder to a new task, this rear end of the transmission tunnel has to be saved, you can't get them as a repair panel, just the floors either side. I can't cut it out to repair it yet, I need the repair floor panels to lay them on top to mark out where to cut....
Image
This floor has been repaired before, the "new" botched panel can be clearly seen marked out in red primer paint, it actually encroaches into my tunnel area. I'll have to be carefull cutting this away, I may have to keep part of the bodge panel.

Thanks Tog, could you make that the Morris Minor Cross. Here's a glimmer of brave silver in a sea of rust.

But up close you see its quite a rough patch, I keep saying its my first, can't keep saying that, and it's quite annoying to see a collection of satellite blow holes appearing all around my new patch, sad isn't it..

while its cooling down, ok, as a welcome break, I've immersed some familiar bits in green rust remover stuff, I wonder if it does what it says on the bottle.. pritty colour int it, had a bath in stuff that colour once.
