What problems are there in fitting a hydraulic clutch ?.
Folk don't find the brake pedal too heavy with discs either just that they prefer a light pedal.

Ford use clutch cables, however all the bits are readily avaliable for the ford conversion using the standard mechanical clutch

The mechanical system is 'pants' in my opinion hydraulic is by far the better if not necesarily cheapest option

Are there 2 types of Ford type 9 box then or just 2 types of clutch mechanisms which fit the same box? i.e. if you get a type 9 box can you then choose between hydraulic or mechanical operation? How do you tell the difference if the boxes are different?

Type 9 and MT75 were cable op - It wasn't until about 2 years into Mondeo production that they went hydraulic clutch but this was on another box which I think was the MT75x

A Minor (obviously) has no 'hydraulic' clutch - therefore to go that route involves installing a clutch master cylinder and connecting it to the pedal! Once that's done - it's easy to pipe up to whatever g/box your heart desires!

Not strictly true - will need redrilling to a different bolt pattern and (AFFAI can see) a new centre for the g box input shaft inserted, along with appropriate bush/bearing. All available ready to fit from specialists.

Well - that sounds like 'slightly modified' to me ! The 'new centre' is only required if using a Ford box - the discussion here was about simply swapping the 1275 engine onto a Minor box.
