hi do morris minors have to have seatbelts or is there a seatbelt exemption?

if originally the car was fitted with seatbelts then yes
also i think all cars after 1964 had to have seat belts fitted

so if yours is an early one then no
but my advice would be to fit them for passenger and driver saftey

Probably just 'need' front belts - although early cars do have an exception - but fool hardy not to fit belts for modern road conditions ! And remember - unbelted passengers in the rear are killers in a smash!! They will hurtle forwrad - and kill you, and very probably themselves too!

Regardless of the legal requirements, think about the effects of hurlting forwards into the steering column at 30mph. Doesn't really bear thinking about.....
