Pick up is nearing paint in the paintshop and the sides should be completed soon, the original rear wings will be fitted to the sides and then its paint time. I still have to decide on a colour

Progress has been slow but its getting there bit by bit..Inside of pick up has now been stripped for respray but the glove box door/cover I bought and fitted needs a catch, where these magnetic and how do they fit ??

Unless you can get a good second hand magnet (which usually comes with a door!) go to a DIY and use magnetic kichen cupboard locks. Seem to do the trick.

well nearly 3 years on its about to be painted ORANGE!! In the oven today. I have owned this pick up since I was 16 so i cant see it ever being for sale, so the value is irrelavant

I have done a good number of screens and never had any real problems.
First time can be a little daunting and I have read of people struggling, but work methodically and do not try and rush and it's a relatively straightforward one man operation. The most important thing is to make sure the rubber is well lubricated and never allowed to dry out. I have found that tyre bead lubricant works best. You will need a few metres of strong thick cord and a beading fitting tool. thin rounded screwdriver or small tyre lever and a selection of "picks". I would also recommend using a non drying mastic to seal between body and rubber. I pump in from the outside using the mastic gun and long nozzle before fitting the beading/trim.

I'm probably one of those people who struggled! What maybe didn't help was the fact that I didn't want any lubricant or such on the rubber that would pick up any crap whilst the rubber was flapping about and also prevent any applied sealant in the final stage from sticking, plus as the paintwork was new didn't want the assistance of sharp objects to ease the rubber over. All these self inflicted requirements take their toll!
