hi all :D
well sorry i did not get back to all your replys ,i had to go and buy another switch and all working fine now no skidding at all unless i need to ,the old new switch was falty . thay tryed to tell me it was my fault i brake to many times . any way thanks for all the help hope to see some of you in may on the nofolk and sufolk run from diss to bury st edmunds ,

Hello MM16,
it shouldn't take a lot of pressure for the switch to operate, so I would still suspect the switch even if it is new. However, if you fancy the alternative route, Triumph 2000's use a switch that is actuated by the brake pedal, there should be plenty of these around in scrap yards.

oops, I didn't spot page two of this post. Isn't it amazing the remarks you get from shop staff. They never admit that there can be anything faulty that they supply.
