Young Owners attending the National Rally...

Post by rsawatson »

Before you read on, please don't interpret this post as being dismissive of older people - because I don't mean to be like that at all!

I just wondered whether there were any other 'young' people, similar age to me [18] - who own a Minor - going to the National Rally in June? For the first time the other day, I incidentally met another Minor driver whilst out and about - the first I've met who's been a teenager!

I'll be there myself with two friends, and am keen to get to know as many other people as possible whilst there! We're not going to the Elvis evening, but plan on having a BBQ on the Saturday night - the more the merrier!

I'm looking forward to towing a trailer tent from West Sussex to Somerset... =)

I was a "youngster" with a minor. In fact compared to some I still am! In fact, I'm just 9086 days old......

By the way, camp out with the website lot. Its one heck of a giggle!

Judging by the people saying they're coming I think the websiters will need a field to ourselves for camping - so far about 20 tents :D

Tent building was not monitored enough and some had blocked cars in. Bit difficult when people turn up late at night and pitch.

sounds a bit like a western with wagon trains all circled around the tents to protect you from the indians LOL

Was the Trailer Test that difficult to pass?

I haven't had to take the additional test - trailer tent weighs under 750kg.

Steve

If you have passed your test since '97 its a bit complicated but you can tow small trailers.

Basically provided the max gross train weight is less than 4250kg and the max gross of the trailer is smaller than the unladen weight of the vehicle you can tow it

The gross on the trailer has to be less than half the unladen weight of the vehicle if its not braked though! (as applies to people with trailer entitlement too)
