I wonder if anyone can help me?
I currently have silver coloured rims, they are a bit tatty so I want to repaint white.
Would me giving them a really good sand, prime, spray (or brush?), then clear lacquer be sufficient? Or, would I need to get the wheels sand blasted? It's just that I do not have the money to spend taking them to a spray shop.
Advice would be much appreciated!
Many thanks.

It's entirely up to you how much time/effort/money you want to expend on wheels ! The colour used on earlier Minors is Old English White. Actually a 'creamy' colour, which I find is very close to Dulux Magnolia gloss! Others say 50/50 mix of Magnolia and White gloss is closer match. I just brush paint mine with the gloss paint - they are wheels after all, not works of art!

A tip posted by Willie a long time ago is if you are leaving the tyres on when painting to use a bead of washing up liquid round the rim of tyre then any overspill paint wont stick to the tyre.

The Aldi route is also a very good option. I had mine done fairly locally to me (I'm in North London), I had them done a couple of weeks ago. Had to wait a bit but that wasn't an issue. Sure there must be someone locally to you. Ask around the local backstreet garages and the like.
