back axel drain plugs

i wanted to check and drain/ refill the oil in the diff, but came accross a slight problem. what is the size of the square hole on the plugs, i was told 3/8 but this is too loose, is thers a tool still avaliable if so where could i purchase one from many thanks in advance :D :D

3/8th is loose but it works on mine.

I bought a set of different size drain plug removers on a bar, from Halfords I believe.

My 3/8" square drive socket set ratchet worked fine !

The 3/8" drive is my 'Travelling' set - in the garage I use proper 1/2" drive ! Adapters from 1/2" to 3/8" are v cheap!!

CPC do a great line in duratool socket drivers, I think I paid a fiver for a set of three (1/2, 3/8, 1/4), yes they are cheep chinese tat but at that price when the ratchet drops out of them you can pickup a new set!

I too use 3/8 as my 'travelling' set, they are so much more convenient than full size when you have limited space/weight.

My Travelling set travels in my Traveller (and sometimes in my TR7!).
