Next track along from us, about 200 yards - and yes they're still looking for a young man and woman: it's only a very short length of stream to the sea - if they haven't found them by now it's the only place they can be really..........
Certainly some water running, our yard is evidence of that!
Took this this afternoon, the photo shows the remains of the Coast Path bridge on the normally little Poniou Stream, just a few hundred yards down from where the car ended up. (Bridge was originally just off the picture to the right.) Normally you'd just see the bridge and an impression of the streams course - all hidden by plant growth.
When we walk the neighbours collie dog, she usually sits in the stream to drink when she's hot!
I just find it hard to beleive a small stream can turn into a raging torrent strong enough to wash away a bridge on a track/road and carry a Volvo away!! ...Is the bridge in the photo the one on the coast path?
What's left of it, yes! It's the one nearest Carnelloe head, the one the other way is gone, and the one at Gurnards is twisted and off it's foundations at one end.
Hopefully the farmer who's track it was will come and scrape it back up when he's finished pumping/drying out his house and outbuildings, otherwise the guests will just have to avoid running their cars into any heaps until we get time to spread it out a bit more thin and evenly....
Thought was time for a quick update. All welding now finished, wiring back in, since pics taken ive rubbed it down and is now in primer ready for top coat...Still a way to go yet
