I'm finding that the original 3-spoke steering wheel, beautiful as it is, is making my hands ache on long journeys. I know lots of you have made changes to your cars, have you any advice on a replacement steering wheel for my traveller which would make long journeys easier on my hands?

Alternative steering wheel?

If you fit a smaller wheel - the steering will be heavier. If it's the thin-ness of the rim that's the problem - wear leather gloves, preferably of the string-back variety! You could of course fit a steering wheel cover - used to be v popular back in the day - proper leather one with lace up fitting of course! Not a furry pink one, please!

Steering wheel swap is very straightforward, you just need to make sure you get the correct boss.

Thanks both - will try gloves to start with - it is the thin-ness that is causing the problem, and possibly a cover. If that doesn't work, I'll swap the wheel, but I'd rather keep it as Moggie as possible.
... I won't go for pink and fluffy, it simply wouldn't go with the red interior!
Thanks again
